I rambled about impatient buggers on the road... exactly a week later I get to witness it again. This time round somebody got hurt. This young lady was lying on the road with her body curled in a foetus position. Around her you can find 3 to 4 passerby crowding around her trying to show their concern by reducing the amount of oxygen in the air around her while the traffic behind just started to build up and NUS was greeted with the musical horns that came with each vehicle in this rush hour.
Sucre was hysterical and simply refused to look at the scene of crime while I was too busy looking for a puddle of blood that I totally forgot to note the license plate number. (Not that I buy 4D but I could share this with my Dad though). In truth, I did not witness the actual crime itself, just the moments after it happened judging from the relatively short jam at that moment. It might not have been a road accident. We might have an undergraduate succumbing to the stress of university life and spontaneously curled and collapsed in the middle of the road while walking back to her hall of residence. Or it could be a freak accident.
Which brings to my next point. That was the spot that I always crossed the road back when I was staying at old Kent Ridge Hall not very many years ago. I stayed in block C facing the stadium and the fastest way to Science Faculty was down this not so gentle slope leading towards ground zero. We had almost brand new furnitures in the hall during those days as Kent Ridge and Sheares hall were refurbished for about a year before news came down that Sheares will be torned down so they can build a new University Hall (an administration building) to replace the almost 5 year old University Hall down at Engineering Faculty. Now those leeches administrators dare to ask alumni for donation money to support the needy students? No way man! Over my dead body. They even spend money to print nice postcard and mailed it to us to get our moolah...
Meanwhile, we had our 3rd student councillor investiture for junior high section, introduction to the candidates running for student councillor for the senior high section and birthday celebration for about 1/3 of staff.
Swearing into their positions
Many people celebrating their birthday together
No idea who had this side of the blackforest cake
The longest and the shortest presidential candidate, in terms of speech wise
The one with and the one without socks visible in her shoe
Visitors to the meeting...
Pardon the white balance. Camera on jpg mode and am too lazy to correct it in post... just too busy these few weeks...
Moral of the story? Don't jaywalk especially near bends and blindspots.
